Syncs

After making changes in one of your environments, you can sync those changes up to your other environment whenever you want! In our example, we made a few changes in our staging environment. We like the changes we made and want to sync those changes over to our production environment. This might be a situation you find yourself in as well. Follow along with the directions below to see how syncs are completed.

  1. Make sure you completed the initialization sync/setup. If you have not done this yet, please follow the directions for that above.
  2. Navigate to https://login.bigcommerce.com/login.
  3. Log in to BigCommerce with your credentials.
  4. Select one of your stores.
  5. On the left side of the screen, select the Apps tab.
  6. Click on the StoreReflect app.
  7. Click on the My Sync Jobs tab.
  8. Click on the orange START NEW CONTENT PUBLICATION button.StoreReflect Sync Step 8
  9. Fill out the inputs below depending on the sync you are trying to do. In step 1, you name the sync whatever you want. In step 2, you choose the type on conflict resolution you would like to have. In step 3, you select your source environment and target environment for the sync. After you get all the information how you want it, click on the orange SELECT CONTENT button.StoreReflect Sync Step 9
  10. Select the type on content you want to sync. You can choose to select only a few items or all of them. Also, you can choose to omit fields if you would like. In our example, we are syncing all the categories and nothing is being omitted.StoreReflect Sync Step 10
  11. Once you select all the items you want to sync, click on the orange NEXT button.StoreReflect Sync Step 11
  12. This is the final screen before the sync happens. Ensure everything is how you want it for the sync you are trying to do. If something needs to be changed you can click the EDIT JOB SETTINGS button. Otherwise, if everything is good, click on the orange RUN JOB button to begin the sync. The amount of time this sync takes depends on how many items/sub-items you are syncing.StoreReflect Sync Step 12
  13. Once your sync is done running, you should see a screen that tells you how many completed tasks there were along with a “The sync has completed!” message. Your sync is done!StoreReflect Sync Step 13

Backups:

StoreReflect automatically backs up your data after every sync. However, sometimes you might want to run your own backups. The Backups/Restore tab allows you to perform manual backups whenever you want! Follow along with the directions below to learn how to do this.

  1. Navigate to https://login.bigcommerce.com/login.
  2. Log in to BigCommerce with your credentials.
  3. Select one of your stores.
  4. On the left side of the screen, select the Apps tab.
  5. Click on the StoreReflect app.
  6. Click on the Backup/Restore tab.
  7. Click on the orange START A NEW BACKUP button.StoreReflect Backup Step 7
  8. In step 1 you choose the environment you want to have a backup done in. Once you select the environment you want, click the orange SELECT CONTENT button.StoreReflect Backup Step 8
  9. In step 2 you choose the content you want to backup. You can choose a few items or select all of them. Once you select the items you want, click the orange NEXT button.StoreReflect Backup Step 9
  10. This is the final screen before the backup happens. Ensure everything is how you want it for the backup you are trying to do. If something needs to be changed you can click the EDIT JOB SETTINGS button. Otherwise, if everything is good, click on the orange RUN JOB button to begin the backup. Restores:

Restores let you go back to a state from one of your manual backups. Backing up your information is very important. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to restore data from a backup, then follow along with the directions below.

  1. Have a manual backup that you want to restore the data from.
  2. Navigate to https://login.bigcommerce.com/login.
  3. Log in to BigCommerce with your credentials.
  4. Select one of your stores.
  5. On the left side of the screen, select the Apps tab.
  6. Click on the StoreReflect app.
  7. Click on the Backup/Restore tab. Then find the backup that you want to restore from your list on backups.StoreReflect Restore Step 7
  8. Once you find the backup you want to restore, click on the white JOB DETAILS button.
  9. A modal window will pop up where is shows you the backup you selected. Click on the orange RESTORE button in order to start the restoration process.StoreReflect Restore Step 9
  10. Step one lets you pick the items that you want to restore from the backup. You can choose individual items or select them all. Once you pick what you want to restore, click the orange NEXT button.
  11. This is the final screen before the restoration happens. Ensure everything is how you want it for the restoration you are trying to do. If something needs to be changed you can click the EDIT JOB SETTINGS button. Otherwise, if everything is good, click on the orange RESTORE button to begin the restoration. The amount of time this restoration takes depends on how many items/sub-items you are trying to restore.StoreReflect Restore Step 11
  12. Once your restoration is done running, you should see a screen that tells you how many completed tasks there were along with a “The sync has completed!” message. Your restoration is done!StoreReflect Restore Step 12
